William Manson was an 18th century ship's captain. From the guide to the William Manson Ship's Logs, 1773, 1784, (Special Collections Research Center, Syracuse University Libraries) William Manson was born on 14 April 1882. He studied at Glasgow University, and Oriel College, Oxford. He studied Theology at the United Free College (later Trinity College), Glasgow, and was ordained in 1911.
